Following on from another very successful year, We have ambitious expansion plans to continue growing our customer portfolio. As a result, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a telecoms PBX engineer with a strong background in business PBX and VoIP systems.

As a Telecoms PBX Engineer you will be responsible for installing, commissioning and programming telephone systems for new and existing customers across the South. This is predominantly a field based role with the occasional office day assisting the technical support team when required. If you have a background as a telecoms Engineer, and you’re based within 50 miles of Andover then we want to speak to you.

You will need to have a strong understanding of telecommunications and PBX telephone systems (ideally Panasonic). Additional knowledge and experience in Hosted Telephony (ideally Gamma), Wi-Fi networks and SIP technology would be highly desirable. You’ll have IT skills as well as basic labouring skills. You’ll need to be presentable and personable, dealing with customers professionally. You’ll have good IT skills and a working knowledge of windows based packages and other databases, and hold a full current UK driving licence.

The successful Telecoms Engineer will need to demonstrate previous experience of installation / maintenance of PBX phone systems and peripheral telecom equipment.

These include Tri–line (call recording), Commsoft (call reporting), Gamma Horizon, Enterprise Grade Routers, IP CCTV and network voice recording products. Any experience of Panasonic products would be a distinct advantage although other makes would also be considered.

You will also benefit from a comprehensive training programme including manufacturers training off site.


  • Installation, programming and commission PBX/IP telephone systems.
  • Installation, termination and testing of Cat 5e/6 structured wiring.
  • Face-to-face customer training on Panasonic PBX phone systems.
  • Site surveys.
  • Provide telephone support, first and second line fault finding.
  • Ensuring the internal support system is used to record issues and that they are progressed to resolution or escalated in line with company procedures.
  • Attend customer sites to rectify maintenance issues.
  • If required, be prepared to work weekends (normally Saturdays if needed).
  • Attend accredited training courses if required.

  • Be able to demonstrate experience in successfully working to tight deadlines.
  • Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast moving and changeable environment.
  • Self-motivated, confident and flexible with a can do attitude.
  • You will need to be conscientious and enthusiastic with the ability to manage your time successfully.
  • Must be a self-starter, problem solver, capable of multitasking and working well with individuals at all levels.
  • Good interpersonal, written, oral, and analytical skills, as well as being innovative and dedicated.
  • Must keep abreast of relevant product developments and maintain any product information in an up-to-date and orderly manner.

Experience & Training:

  • Experience with the NS brand of Panasonic telecommunications systems and ideally have experience on TDA/TDE/NCP/TVM
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of Hosted / Cloud based telephony solutions
  • Experience of call management, call recording solutions
  • Experience with ISDN, PSTN, VoIP (SIP) technology
  • Experience with CAT5/CAT6 Cabling solutions
  • Experience with WiFi products (preferable)
  • Experience with Draytek Routers (preferable)
  • Experience with Gamma Horizon Systems (preferable)
  • Experience with Hikvision CCTV (preferable)
  • Experience with Vodafone (preferable)
  • Experience with ACT Database (preferable)
  • Experience with IT networking (preferable)
  • Experience with Leased Lines & Broadband (preferable)
